Dear Colleagues:
Welcome to the home page of the California
Prevention Collaborative (CPC).
The CPC is an association of organizations, agencies, and volunteers
partnering with one another to effectively advance primary prevention
work around alcohol, tobacco and other drug problems in California
communities. While the groups that make up the CPC are unique, they
each are dedicated to the unified goals and values that support
prevention. The 2004 California Prevention Summit in Riverside was
a unique opportunity for all the CPC partners to share the most
recent scientific and research based ATOD (alcohol, tobacco, and
other drug) prevention strategies, as well as dialogue CPC's vision
and goals for the new year. CPC partners meet regularly to address
issues of interest and importance, and move prevention efforts forward
in California. We invite you to join us at this year's CPC Prevention
Summit. Registration information and materials will be available
soon, please visit this site to register early!
Please review information about the
association and its goals. Take a look at the California Prevention
Platform which is the foundation of the CPC. Descriptions of the
various committees, contact information, and detailed information
about the CPC's goals are available on this site, as well as a copy
of the CPC Charter. The CPC Charter outlines the CPC's bylaws that
are constructed to support the longevity and overall stability of
the association.
Thank you for your interest in the California
Prevention Collaborative...we look forward to your participation
as part of the CPC in the near future and invite you to browse our
site for information. Our gratitude is also extended to the California
Friday Night Live Partnership for hosting this home page.
For additional information about the
CPC, or if you have questions, please feel free to contact me at

Warm regards,
Daniel E. Torres
